【作家メッセージ】
木工を始めて17年。
始めは趣味の範囲でしたが、大型木工機械を購入してからは、少しずつ作れるものや出品させていただくエリアも変化してきました。
しかし最初から⼀貫して心がけているのは安全性です。
椅子などの作り方はもちろんですが、使う接着剤や仕上げに使うオイルなども安全性を第⼀に考えて選んでいます。
最近特に意識しているのは、自分の年齢にも比例して、高齢の方が日常の生活で使いやすいものを作ることです。
例えば椅子であればなるべく軽く移動しやすくする、日本人の体型に合わせた椅子の高さにするなどです。
そして木の持つ自然さをどうデザインに活かすか。
これが⼀番難しくもあり、楽しい所でもあります。
⼀つ⼀つ作れることを生かして、丁寧に、そして木の自然な良さと面白さを出せたらいいなと思って作っております。

【Artist’s Message】
I have been engaged in woodworking for 17 years.
After purchasing large woodworking machines, what started as a hobby gradually evolved, expanding the types of items I could make and the areas where I could exhibit my work.
However, one thing I have consistently focused on from the beginning is safety. This includes not only the methods used to make items like chairs but also the adhesives and finishing oils I choose, all selected with safety as a top priority.
Recently, I have been particularly focused on creating items that are easy for older people to use, a consideration that becomes increasingly important as I get older myself. For example, I design chairs to be lightweight and easy to move, and to fit the proportions of the average Japanese body.
Additionally, I strive to incorporate the natural qualities of wood into my designs. This is both the most challenging and enjoyable aspect of my work. I hope to leverage the craftsmanship of each piece to carefully highlight the natural beauty and uniqueness of the wood.

2018年　大阪工芸展　産業工芸大賞受賞
