【作家メッセージ】
私は、日常、家庭で使っていただける食器を中心に作陶をしています。
食器を制作していて、手に持って使う器は、大変に難しいものだと思っています。
使われる方の手の大きさ、指の太さ等各自少しずつ違いがありますので、西洋陶器の様に同じサイズ、形だけではなかなか各自にあった器は見つかりにくいです。
そこで私は、持ち具合の良さ、重さ、口当たりに考慮して制作しています。
それでも、使われる方の大きさ、重さ等がどうしても合わない場合は、ご希望をお聞きして、その方に合った器を作ります。
器が出来たら、その上に山間部にある陶房の周辺に咲く、草花をモチーフにして、染付という技法で絵付をしています。
自然の魅力を感じていただければ嬉しいです。

【Message from the artist】
I focus on creating tableware that can be used in everyday home life.
I find it very challenging to create pieces that are comfortable to hold and use.
Since each person has slightly different hand sizes and finger thicknesses, it’s difficult to find a one-size-fits-all piece like Western ceramics.
Therefore, I consider factors such as the grip, weight, and mouthfeel when crafting my pieces.
If my existing creations still do not suit the user, I am happy to listen to their preferences and create a custom piece that fits them.
Once complete, I use a technique called Sometsuke (blue-and-white porcelain) to paint designs inspired by the flowers blooming around the kiln in the mountainous region.
I hope everyone can feel the charm of nature through my work.
