【作家メッセージ】
ガラス⼯芸をずっとやってきて思うことですが、⼯芸としては素材は⼤事です。ガ
ラスも例外ではありません。原料の調合によってツヤとか反射の具合が違うとか⾊
⾒が微妙に変わるなどがあります。また作業中のガラスの伸び具合や固さの変化な
ども変わってきます。当然、出来上がった作品にもそれらは反映されます。前に
は、うまく出来なかった物が調合を変えると作り易くなったこともあります。もっ
とも出来上がりが必ずしも⾃分の思い通りになっている訳ではないのですが。「意
図したものとは ちょっと違うが、これはこれでおもしろい」というようなことも
時々あったりもします。そういう計算外の効果も取り込みつつ、⾃分の作品を追求
する⽇々です。

【Message from the artist】
I have been working with glass for a long time and I think that the material is a very important part of the art. Glass is no exception.
The luster, reflections, and colors change subtly depending on the combination of raw materials. Also, the degree of stretching and changes in the hardness of the glass during the process can vary.
Naturally, these changes are reflected in the finished product.
It is sometimes easier to make something that did not turn out well the first time around, by changing the composition.
Sometimes the finished product is not as I want it to be, but even though it may be a little different from what I had in mind, it’s interesting in its own way.
I am always in pursuit of my own work, taking in such unexpected effects.

1956年　大阪市に生まれる
1975年　大阪市立工芸高校美術科卒業
1984年　東京ガラス工芸研究所研究科修了
　　　　 石川県、能登島ガラス工房に勤務
1987年　兵庫県篠山市に工房を開設
　　　　 制作を開始
　　　　 個展、グループ展などに出品
　　　　 現在に至る
