日本の手仕事展2024 ～持続可能なものづくり～

【作家メッセージ】
大阪府茨木市でやきものづくりをしています。
作っている作品は大きく分けて３つです。
１つ目は、地元の土で作る新しいやきものです。
茨木市の豊川で採れる粘土は、広く千里丘陵に堆積した大阪層群の粘土層です。
焼き上がりの特徴は鉄分を多く含み茶褐色をした独特の趣がある素朴なやきものになります。
これまでは焼き締め作品が多かったのですが、今回は釉薬をかけた作品も出品致します。
ぜひ手に取ってみてください。
思ったより軽いことに驚かれると思います。
2つ目は、釉薬をかけた作品です。
地元茨木市にゆかりのある古田織部の織部釉や透明感のある釉薬、また作品の表面に自然なひび割れを入れてアクセントに表現した作品など、生活の器を中心に制作しています。
3つ目は、昔ながらの薪で炊く登り窯の作品です。
昼夜を問わず6日間赤松の薪で炊き続けます。
焚口から煙突へ窯の中を走る炎が、作品の表面に当たり土と灰と炎が融合して薪窯作品でしか表現できない独特のやきものになります。

【Message from the artist】
I create pottery in Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture. My work can be broadly categorized into three types.
The first type is new pottery made with local clay. The clay from the Toyokawa area in Ibaraki City comes from the clay layers of the Osaka Formation, which is widely deposited across the Senri Hills. The finished pieces, rich in iron content, have a unique, rustic charm with a brownish color. Although most of my previous works have been unglazed, I am now also presenting pieces with glaze. I encourage you to pick them up; you might be surprised at how light they feel.
The second type is glazed works. These are mainly functional tableware pieces, using glazes such as Oribe glaze, which is associated with Furuta Oribe, who has a connection to Ibaraki City, and transparent glazes, as well as pieces that have natural crackles on the surface for accent.
The third type is works fired in a traditional climbing kiln using wood. For six days, both day and night, the kiln is continuously fired with red pine wood. The flames run through the kiln from the firebox to the chimney, striking the surface of the pieces and fusing the clay, ash, and fire to create a unique pottery that can only be achieved through wood firing.
