日本の手仕事展2023 ～持続可能なものづくり～

【作家メッセージ】
大阪府茨木市でやきものづくりをしています。
作っている作品は大きく分けて３つです。
１つ目は、地元の土で作る新しいやきものです。
茨木市の豊川で採れる粘土は、広く千里丘陵に堆積した大阪層群の粘土層です。
焼き上がりの特徴は鉄分を多く含み茶褐色をした独特の趣がある素朴なやきものになります。
ぜひ手に取ってみてください。思ったより軽いことに驚かれると思います。
２つ目は、釉薬をかけた作品です。
地元茨木市にゆかりのある古田織部の織部釉や透明感のある釉薬、また呉須の泡模様で仕上げた作品など、生活の器を中心に制作しています。
３つ目は、昔ながらの薪で炊く登り窯の作品です。
昼夜を問わず5日間赤松の薪で炊き続けます。
窯を炊く赤松の薪が窯の中で燃えながら灰が作品の表面につき、焚口から煙突へ窯の中を走る炎が、作品の表面に当たり土と灰と炎が融合して薪窯作品でしか表現できない独特のやきものになります。

【Message from the artist】
I make pottery in Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture.
There are three main types of works that I create.
The first is new pottery made from local clay.
The clay from Toyokawa district in Ibaraki City is a clay layer of the Osaka Formation, which is widely deposited in the Senri Hills. The finished pottery is characterized by its high iron content and unique rustic, dark brown color. Please feel it with your hands. You will be surprised at how light it is.
The second is a glazed piece.
I produce mainly everyday wares, such as Oribe glazed wares by Furuta Oribe, who is associated with my hometown of Ibaraki City, transparent glazed wares, and wares finished with a bubbled pattern of gosu (a type of mineral pigment).
The third is his climbing kiln work, which is cooked in a traditional wood-fired kiln.
The kiln cooks day and night for five days with red pine wood. As the red pine wood burns in the kiln, the ashes stick to the surface of the work, and the flames running through the kiln from the fire opening to the chimney hit the surface of the work, fusing the clay, ashes, and flames to create a unique pottery that can only be expressed by wood-fired kiln works.
