【作家メッセージ】
大阪切子の流れの尼崎の切子作家です。
江戸時代にヨーロッパのカットガラスを、日本人が日本の技術で作り上げたものが「切子」です。
大坂で生まれその後、江戸、薩摩と拡がりました。大阪でも昭和の頃までは盛んに作られていましたが、現在は絶滅危惧種状態と言えます。
大阪ではわずかに残った職人と、それよりは多い作家達が、その火を絶やさぬ様にと活動を続けています。
そしてそれぞれが、オリジナルの作品、製品を作り続けています。
私もその一翼を担っています。好きな事をやっているとも言えますが…自分色、空気感の作品を作り続けています。
切子のシャープさ、輝きとサンドブラストの優しさ、柔らかさを併せた作品を多く作っています。
すりガラスと研磨されたガラスの透明感の対比、ラインや玉ではなく面での削り、磨きによるデザイン作品等、一般的な切子作品とは一味違うオリジナルの作品を製作しています。

【Message from the artist】
I am a faceted glass artist of the Osaka Kiriko style from Amagasaki, Japan.
Kiriko is a type of cut-glass artwork created by Japanese people in the Edo period, using European cut glass with Japanese techniques.
Faceted glass originated in Osaka and later spread to Edo (Tokyo) and Satsuma (Satsuma). Faceted glass was also actively produced in Osaka until around the Showa period (1926-1989), but it is now considered an industry on the verge of extinction.
In Osaka, only a few remaining craftsmen and a larger number of artists continue to work to keep the art alive.
Each of them continues to create original works and products.
I am a part of this. It could be said that I am doing what I like… I continue to create works with my own color and atmosphere.
I make many pieces that combine the sharpness and brilliance of Kiriko with the gentleness and softness of sandblasting.
I create original works that are different from ordinary faceted works, such as the contrast of transparency between frosted glass and polished glass, and design works by grinding and polishing on the surface instead of lines and beads.
